Nothing helps us illustrate how quickly the World is Changing like a great infographic… or even better… a great video infographic. And although the video below is more than a year old and some of the stats have fallen behind, the information is still staggering and the time that has elapsed since this was created only makes these things more true.
Did You Know...
- Television Advertising is down 10.1% while Mobile Advertising is up 18.1%?
- 95% of all music downloaded in 2008 wasn't paid for?
- The average American teen sends over 2200 text messages a month?
- 90% of the 2 billion emails sent every day are spam?
The stats by themselves are impressive here, but the numbers are also packaged up in a very well-communicated way. The ingenuity in presentation here goes to XPLANE, The Economist, Scott McLeod, Karl Fisch, & Laura Bestler. The progression of updates leading to this video was three years in the making and versions of this video have been viewed more than 20 million times. The catalyst prompting the creation of this 4.0 incarnation was The Economist's Media Convergence Forum in October 2009.
